Getting White People to Talk About Racism | The New Yorker Radio Hour

George Floyd’s killing has prompted a national outcry and a wide reassessment of the ways in which racist systems are intrinsic to America. Suzanne Plihcik, an anti-racism trainer, examines white supremacy in America, and how hard it is for those who benefit from structural racism to acknowledge its existence.

Suzanne Plihcik argues that racism occurs even in the absence of people who seem like racists: “We are set up for it to happen,” and changing those systems will require sustained white action, she tells Dorothy Wickenden.

Queen and J. (Janicia) qualify themselves as womanist race nerds. Their weekly podcast deconstructs "white supremacist patriarchal capitalism", to make it understandable for everyday people. They break the barriers of race conversations being accessible to and discussed by only scholars. This very raw podcast highlights the intellect of those two women who talk about politics, popular culture, race, sexuality, and much more. Unapologetically Black, these women also make it their mission to ensure that Black and Indigenous women and non-binary folks are recognized, respected, and paid for their labour - themselves included.
