KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Montreal in Action is currently developing a series of workshops and training programs on systemic racism in collaboration with leaders of the Black community, anti-discrimination experts, and activists. This educational material will help equip individuals and businesses to heighten their consciousness of the dynamics of discrimination and start a process of change.
All upcoming are listed below. If no courses are listed, it means we’re hard at work planning! Please check back again soon as we routinely update this page with more educational courses, workshops, and programs.

This event is held in collaboration with the Anti-Racism Secretariat (the Secretariat) and #MontréalSansProfilage, and will engage the university community and members of the larger public in a conversation about systemic racism in academia and concrete actions to counter the problem.
Though discrimination against Indigenous and racialized communities in postsecondary institutions is an established fact, it is still too often ignored and left unaddressed by policy makers and administrators. Research has underscored the necessity for greater federal leadership to work with Indigenous, Black, and other racialized communities in academia in the search for effective short- and long-term remedies.
In the in-camera session, closed to the media, the Secretariat, Montréal en Action and #MtlSansProfilage are bringing together a panel of speakers from across the country who will talk about the obstacles Indigenous, Black and other racialized communities experience in academic institutions, and the policies that are and must be put in place to achieve substantive equity and inclusion.
During the 2-hour virtual event, panelists will share research and expertise on systemic racism and decolonization in academia, and this will be followed by a Q&A for the audience to participate in a discussion about the challenges and solutions to racial discrimination in research and academia.
